 | The deviguard is connected to the heating cable/mat to monitor the heating element,
an alarm will sound should the Deviguard detect either one of the following:
• An open circuit element fault (the centre heating
conductor has been cut)
• A short to the earth screen (the heating cable has
been damaged causing the centre core conductor to
touch the outer earth screening)
The deviguard will only detect the above faults, if the cable
has been slightly damaged, for example a small nick in the
cable, this may weaken the cable and a fault may develop
later.
