The amount of salt needed for each regeneration is calculated exactly in proportion to the amount of softened water used - unlike other water softeners which regenerate using a fixed amount of salt.

Also, with the Prismertec, the resin beads are only ever partially exhausted, so each regeneration cycle is more quickly and thoroughly completed than in other water softeners. Which means that the softened water produced is consistently of the very best quality.
